Kenya Johnson

Kenya Johnson is the Director of the University of Arizona Libraries Marketing Communications & Events. With 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and community engagement, she worked in the public, private, and non-profit sectors before founding her own marketing consulting business to support local organizations, small businesses, and solo entrepreneurs. Prior to joining the University Libraries in 2017, she worked in development communications at the University of Arizona Health Sciences and served as the communications manager for the Pima County Public Library in Tucson. In her current role, Kenya oversees the library’s publicity, internal and external communications, events, visual marketing strategies, and media relations. She also led and collaborated on the marketing strategy for the University’s Student Success District. Kenya holds a BA from the University of Arizona–emphasizing Sociology, Women’s Studies, and Business–and an MA in Communication at Arizona State University.
