Senator John Pinto Library, Diné College Libraries

Darwyn Henderson is Din’e, from the Tangle People Clan and born for the Red Bottom People, paternal grandfather is Red Running into the Water and maternal grandfather is One Who Walks Around. He grew up in and around the Navajo Nation for most of his years and worked for Tribal Colleges & Universities (TCUs) for over 25 years. Currently, he works for Din’e College-Shiprock at the Senator John Pinto Library in Shiprock, NM. He believes he has been a catalyst for remodeling or new construction at most of his stops in his professional career. From ASU’s Hayden Library to Kansas State University’s Hale Library to Navajo Technical University Library, he has been a part of relocating a department to another floor, boxing up collections for temporary housing, or designing plans for a new building with a design team. Darwyn enjoys working with Tribal libraries and communities to provide services and resources to the local area. He is almost an empty nester who enjoys the outdoors, coffee, golf, live music, and rescuing Rez dogs. Mr. Henderson has an undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and his Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas.
